SUSAN ERHART
Wardrobe Mistress and Costume Seamstress/Designer
Susan Erhart organizes and alters costumes for Saint Louis Ballet
School, oversees all SLB company costumes, and has designed
some original costumes for Saint Louis Ballet’s
The Nutcracker,
Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty
and contemporary works, plus
construction of Christopher d’Amboise’s
Pandora’s Box
and the
design and construction of Emory LeCrone’s
Figurant
and Brian
Enos’s
Bloom.
She has designed and made costumes for Lifelight
Youth Theatre’s productions of
Oklahoma, King and I
and
Beauty
and the Beast.
Erhart began teaching herself how to sew in 1989
and, since then, has done alterations in a bridal shop where she
learned every type of hand and machine sewing and craft that she
could. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Webster
University in 1997. In 2001, her children began taking classes at
Saint Louis Ballet School where she started out as a volunteer
sewing hooks and eyes.
