16 2024 | Carondelet Community Directory for new development and investment in Carondelet today remain closely tied to the destiny of not only the city it was annexed by in 1870, but that of the broader St. Louis metropolitan region. However, the unique cultural identity produced by the community’s original French roots and succeeding generations of immigrants from all over the world will remain an important part of the story as well. Haden M. Smith is a former Carondelet resident who previously served on the Economic Development Committee for the Carondelet Community Betterment Federation. He has a law degree and also earned a master’s degree in urban planning and development at Saint Louis University.
