Nestled on the western side of the city in the central corridor, the new 4th Ward is a world-class place to live, work, and enjoy life. The 4th Ward was created following redistricting in 2023 and is comprised of the official city neighborhoods of Cheltenham, Clayton-Tamm, Clifton Heights, Ellendale, Franz Park, and Hi-Pointe, parts of which combine to form the unofficial neighborhood affectionately known as “Dogtown.” Many are familiar with Dogtown as the St. Louis’ historical Irish neighborhood and the site of a large parade and festival every year on St. Patrick’s Day. The residents, businesses, parks, schools, and community organizations make the 4th Ward a great place to move to, raise a family, or simply to stop by on your way home from work for a beer and a burger.
