In 2010, the faithful of Grace UCC moved down the block to 4025 Wilmington Ave., seeking new ways to continue their ministry to others. Grace hosts a Little Free Library outside the building; donates mittens for kids, gift cards for supplies, and food for staff during Parent-Teacher conferences to Woerner Elementary; lunches for Gateway 180 emergency shelter; and serves with Habitat for Humanity. Grace United Church of Christ invites the neighborhood to join them in service and for worship Sundays at 10 am both in-person and online. Our worship looks a little bit different every week, but there’s always music, prayer, scripture, and conversation. OAK HILL CHAPEL, 6100 LEONA ST. 314-351-8305, OAKHILLCHAPEL.ORG Oak Hill Chapel was founded in 1950. The church began as a home fellowship in the Oak Hill neighborhood of South Saint Louis. In 1952, the fledgling congregation purchased property and constructed its first church building at the corner of Oak Hill Street and Parker Avenue. By 1984 the congregation had outgrown its building and purchased its present property in the Holly Hills neighborhood. Since the inception of Oak Hill Chapel we have been an independent, community Bible church. Our message is evangelical and our music contemporary. The vision of the original congregation was to provide a meeting place for Christians in the neighborhood. That remains part of our core purpose today.
