It also works in tandem with the Board of Directors to chart the organization’s digital presence and alignment in messaging. Lastly, this committee is responsible for creating and managing systems for the digital archive of all historical content, ensuring that our history is preserved and accessible. For newspaper-related inquiries, please contact editor@soulard.org COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT & EVENTS COMMITTEE Committee Chair – Brad Pitlyk | Liaison Director – Aaron Terry The Community Involvement & Events Committee builds, leverages, and engages a diverse and inclusive membership through a set of events where everyone in the Soulard neighborhood is invited to attend.The events will be diverse in nature and appeal to a broad base of neighbors and families of all backgrounds.This Committee also works with other committees on their events to ensure that every attempt has been made to invite all members and non-members to various events that are held and sponsored by SRG throughout the year. Funds are raised through activities such as an Annual “Smarty Gras”Trivia Night, and by working beer and beverage booths at Mardi Gras, Soulard Oktoberfest,Taste of St. Louis and other events.The committee also sells official Soulard merchandise and promotional items. HISTORICAL COMMITTEE Committee Chair – Veronica Putz | Liaison Director – Beth Bennett The Historical Committee documents and preserves Soulard’s heritage in three ways: (1) implements projects to research, document, archive, and publicize historical information associated with Soulard, (2) provides historical services to the SRG, to include serving as a focal point for SRG members who study history, as well as a resource for SRG members who wish to learn more about their house’s history, and (3) builds and increases the historical legacy of the Soulard neighborhood, promotes Soulard history to the public, and provides research services (or referrals) to SRG membership.
