Churches Eight churches and nine schools call St. Louis Hills home. St. Gabriel the Archangel, Hope United Church of Christ, Ascension Lutheran, and St. Thomas Orthodox are located at each of the four corners of Francis Park. Trinity Assembly of God, St. Raphael the Archangel, St. Andrew Presbyterian, and St. Mark’s Episcopal are all located nearby. The presence of these churches and schools translates into a strong sense of community for all residents of St. Louis Hills. Activities St. Louis Hills is proud to host a wide variety of cultural, sports and other events that are popular with people throughout the region. These include: RUN FOR THE HILLS Run for the Hills was started 33 years ago to raise money for the beautification of Francis Park. Each year Friends of Francis Park and the St. Louis Hills Neighborhood Association host the event which includes a 5k run and 1-mile run/walk on a course winding through the beautiful St. Louis Hills neighborhood. Participants get to surround themselves with great people excited to push themselves to run their best race and support Francis Park. Run for the Hills received the Best Neighborhood Support Award for the St. Louis metro area races in 2018. Whether you run the 5k, walk the miler, watch your kids compete in the youth run or register as a neighborhood supporter, 100 percent of the money raised from the event is spent directly on our treasured neighborhood centerpiece, Francis Park. ART IN THE PARK If you love art fairs, delicious food, lively music, and plenty of kids’ art activities, then you’ll love Art in the Park. Held in Francis Park, this art fair attracts many talented local and regional artists each year. The unique and affordable art available for sale makes it a favorite among art lovers and buyers. With the beautiful lily pond blooming in the middle of the fair, this event showcases the jewel of our St. Louis Hills neighborhood. All money raised through the art fair is used to purchase the whimsical sculptures seen in and around the lily pond. Please visit artintheparkstl.com for more information.
