Most of the city’s 17 committees report and advise the Board of Aldermen on the issues they cover. A municipal election is held each April. The mayor is elected in even years to a two-year term. Eight Aldermen, two from each ward, are elected to staggered two-year terms. All elected officials must be residents inside the corporate boundaries of the city of Sunset Hills.
