Governance SNIA is managed by an Executive Committee and governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors comprises elected representatives of each block in the Shaw Neighborhood and meets every other month online. Membership All SNIA membership fees go directly to supporting the many programs and activities the association organizes to enhance the quality of life in Shaw. Aside from the association’s part-time officer manager, SNIA is completely volunteer run. Join online at shawstlouis.org . Membership Levels • Individual.....................$10 • Household .................$20 • Business.......................$50 SNIA Committees SNIA Committees meet regularly to work on issues important to the community. Committee members generally serve for at least one year and commit to attending regular meetings and work on projects in addition to meetings. Each committee determines its meeting schedule. Committees include: • Art Fair: Produce the Historic Shaw Art Fair, held each fall • Beautification: Design and implement projects to keep Shaw clean and blooming • Block Captains: Organize activities to build community and beautify block units • Dog Park: Administer membership and maintain the Shaw Dog Park, which is open to residents and others • Communications: Manage information related to Shaw and SNIA, including the website and social media • Membership: Develop strategies to solicit new and retain existing members and build relationships with Shaw businesses • Safety: Work with police, prosecuting attorney, neighborhood stabilization officer and aldermen to prevent and address crime • Youth: Develop programs and activities for neighborhood children and teens
