The laundry room off the kitchen uses the home’s original white laundry sink, which was in great shape. A well-placed office with more storage is just off the front room. The mudroom helps keep things organized. A half- bath is situated near an additional backyard door. The second floor was added using shed dormer construction. It feels cozy, tucked-away, yet ample. A playroom is the kid’s domain. Each of the boy’s bedrooms has a large window overlooking the back yard with roman shades for privacy. One of the bedrooms uses extra space to snug in a study desk. The boy’s bathroom utilizes a space-saving pocket door. The navy color on the shiplap wall contrasts with the white subway tiles in the bath and shower. The double sinks are topped with ample countertop space and the cabinets provide storage. Bree said the what really sold them on the house was the large back yard that allows the entire family space for playing sports, games, lounging, and of course, outdoor eating. We all know that St. Louis is a city of brick homes. Older photos show 6446 Westway fading into the landscape with a tired, dated look. The Saunders introduced a fresh aesthetic by giving the exterior bricks a coat of white paint. The result is lots of curb appeal. The Saunders’ hard work gave 6446 Westway a new life while preserving its timeless features.
