It looks out over my backyard which is peaceful and private, and I improve the landscaping each year. My dogs love all the space to run and chase each other, and they enjoy taking naps out on the porch with me. The space has a warm and comfortable vibe, and it’s great for entertaining friends and family, which was my objective.” Lisa’s 3-season porch was featured in Design STL May/June 2020 Issue. Looking for screened-in comfort? Check out this home in South City (stlmag.com) The porch seems to draw you to it with the wood-burning fireplace, patterned tile floor, cedar framing and ceiling, and comfortable furnishings. It’s informal and inviting. A patio and deck complement the outdoor entertainment areas. Lisa shared that she’s originally from St. Louis but moved away for many years. In 2002 she moved fromWashington, DC back to St. Louis and bought a beautiful Tudor in Rock Hill - but missed city living. In 2007 she moved to Lafayette Square, where she built and helped design a new 3 story Gilded Age beauty on Mississippi Ave., directly across from the park where she lived for 10 years. She added, “I loved living in Lafayette Square and the house, but it was large, and it was time to downsize.” The home’s exterior gleams with Lisa’s touch - the house brick was painted a rich grey and colorful landscaping changes with the seasons. The new patio and driveway were laid using aggregate rock/concrete, new front and garage doors, new Anderson black casement windows installed, and the roof was extended over the garage and cedar added above the garage door. Lisa said, “I chose St. Louis Hills mostly due to number of ranch homes and being able to walk to Francis Park, and all the fun activities that go on in the park year-round. It’s a warm and friendly community and my neighbors are great, and we all watch out for each other.”
