34 • St. Louis Hills House Tour • 2023 6522 Walsh As one of St. Louis Hills’ first homes, 6522 Walsh conveys the charm expected of a 1934 house. Roy and JoAnna Jackson found the home in 2020. A house goes through a lot in 90 years, but in the three short years with the Jackson’s, it’s been transformed into a traditional home with a practical floor plan with cottage style and crisp, upbeat colors. Roy is the owner of Roy Jackson Building and Remodeling. He’s a highly experienced, skilled, creative designer and contractor, having built and remodeled homes in Georgia, Kentucky, and St. Louis. Naturally, he put his experience to work incorporating what both he and JoAnna wanted in this home. JoAnna is an artist and owner of Nestfeathers. Her current mediums are acrylics, encaustics, collage, and Japanese Book binding. Many of her paintings have been displayed in galleries, and tour participants will be able to see her work throughout this home.
