the South Side Interagency Group, the
St. Louis Federation of Settlements and the
Social Planning Council, Kingdom House is
working locally in behalf of improvements in
several fields.
Some way must be found to challenge
the seeming apathy of neighbors about
conditions of our streets and alleys. Eighty-
two per cent of our neighbors are renters,
and many families live in a single room.
Our neighborhood suffers from social
and economic instability and has great
intercultural needs. No satisfactory measure
of the value of our service has as yet been
devised, but who with a warm heart for
humanity and a simple faith in Christian
principles would deny the importance of our
responsibility in working toward an ultimate
solution.
