The 1942
Kingdom House Annual
Report
shows that only five WPA
workers assisted the staff and volunteers
for the year. No government workers

Kingdom House celebrated its 50th
anniversary in 1952, and although
several activities were held to
commemorate the event, the Women’s
Board minutes for the year reflect the
surprise by which the anniversary
seemingly had taken the women. Many
former neighbors sent their regards;
among those was Sports Announcer
Harry Carey, who wrote:

congratulate Kingdom House on its 50th
Anniversary. While in high school I played
baseball with a Kingdom House team

these clubs mean
to the youth in our
community. My best
wishes for the years
ahead.
